RURAL COLIVING IN SPAIN & Coworking Space

Casa Pardal

A shared living and working experience for digital nomads, remote workers, creatives and artists who want to slow down, live in community, and connect with nature.

Where peaceful mornings meet inspired workdays.

Connect with kindred spirits, slow down, cook, and join in on yoga, art, and community moments that make every day feel intentional.

Casa Pardal is a small rural coliving an hour from Barcelona. Come for a week. Stay a month. Leave feeling a little more like yourself.

It's time to try something different.

Test out a slower lifestyle in rural Catalonia. Casa Pardal is the perfect landing pad for those who are ready for a change of pace. Who knows? Maybe this is exactly what you’ve been searching for.

Simple living

Take your time and enjoy the simple things. Walks with no destination, learning to make focaccia, a work day that ends at dinner with friends.

Small & connected community

We are a small coliving, between 4 to 12 people in the house, which makes connections flow naturally.

Share what you love

From yoga and cooking to art or woodworking, everyone brings something unique to the table.

Blend with local culture

Live in a 17th-century fortified village in rural Catalonia. Not a coworking bubble, but a real place with real neighbors.

A place for art

Home to the LENTA Art Residency. Whether you’re a working artist or just curious, creativity is part of daily life here.

Pet-friendly

Morning walks through open farmland, quiet country trails, and a house where pets are part of the community.

Meet your hosts, Monica & James

From Catalonia and France, we came together with one shared vision: to create a life that feels aligned, grounded, and inspired by community.

Casa Pardal grew from that dream: an eco-friendly space where stories are shared, ideas flow easily, and nature reminds us to slow down and connect.

Why Casa Pardal?

Where is Casa Pardal?

Casa Pardal sits inside La Fortesa, a fortified Catalan village dating back to the 12th century. Fields out front, hills behind. Five minutes by car (15min by bike!) is Calaf, your nearest town, with markets, restaurants, and a bus and train station.

You’re an hour from Barcelona, half an hour from Montserrat, and within easy reach of the Pyrenees and the coast, plus the many beautiful small villages of Catalonia at your doorstep.

How to get to Casa Pardal

Once you’ve booked, we’ll be in touch before your arrival to help coordinate everything. We pick up guests from the train or bus stop in Calaf, just a 5-minute drive from the house. If the journey sounds overwhelming, trust us, it’s easier than it seems and totally worth it! We’re happy to help you figure it out.

Barcelona-El Prat Airport is just 1 hour (85 km) from the house. From the airport, Colivers will take the bus, train, catch a ride, or drive to Casa Pardal.

We are currently experiencing issues with the train system in Spain. We recommend taking the bus instead. Depending on where you are coming from, the train might still work, but please reach out and we can help coordinate.

Two daily buses connect Barcelona’s Estació del Nord with Calaf, our nearest town — making it the fastest way to reach Casa Pardal. The journey takes around 1 hour 30 minutes. Check the schedule here!

If you’re driving, there’s easy parking for your vehicle right at Casa Pardal. For those without a car, BlaBlaCar is a popular option for our guests. Many guests find rides on the app from Barcelona to Calaf or the nearby town of Jorba. Check for trips here!

FAQs

If you come by car or BlaBlaCar ride, it is easy peasy. Casa Pardal is 1 hour away from Barcelona airport. We will pick you up in our nearest village Calad. There are also bus and train options listed in our How To Get to Casa Pardal section.

Dogs and cats are welcome here, we have lots of space for them to play. We ask for a extra fee of 5 eur per day.

We have hiking routes from the house, perfect for trail running as well. Also if you cycle, Anoia is well known for cycling routes. We are surrounded by castles and small medieval towns. There are two star observatories very close by. Montserrat is 30 mins away, one of the most impressive day excursions to do in Catalonia. For climbers, one of the most famous spots you can get to is Camarasa only 1 hour away. For sea souls Waikiki beach is our favourite beach for a day trip. See more about our activities here!

We currently share 3 community meals per week. One meal is cooked by us, and for the other two we invite colivers to volunteer as cooks. It’s a beautiful way to share recipes, cultures, and stories from different countries. Cooking is always optional, if you don’t feel like cooking, there’s absolutely no pressure to do so. At the beginning of each week, we create a shared list of ingredients and organize the groceries together. We ask for a contribution of €20 per week per person, which covers the 3 meals as well as shared basics like bread ingredients, olive oil, and coffee.

We have some bicycles available for the members of the coliving, Calaf is the closest town with all the services that you might need, and is reachable by foot in 30 mins, by bicycle 15mins or by car 5mins. We will organize grocery car rides on a weekly basis. Read more about life at our coliving here!

We like to share meals, even if they are not organised and dance in the kitchen. Sit outside to read a book and listen to the birds singing. We practice yoga and we like to do art activities frequently. You could also help us with the veggie garden or taking care of our chickens. On Saturday mornings we like to go to the farmers market in Calaf, organize hikes in the area and try the local food or visit the wineries around. See more about our activities here!

Your computer and the gadgets that you use for your daily work. All the rest is provided in the coliving: bed sheets, towels, yoga mats and weights. Pack warm layers as the house gets cold, especially during cooler months.
